Delivering writing instruction for grades 1 to 6 in two languages on Windows and Mac is a daunting task, but to do it while the textbook was still in production, with an adoption date just around the corner -- now that is a challenge! We worked with Harcourt School Publishers to create a list of activities, then created a database for the writers to enter the activities and preview the content while production staff created the art and recorded the voice over. We met this short schedule by developing an import tool to use XML output from the database to create the Macromedia Director files for the program
